Curated on behalf of Sizewell C
What started off (in early 2020) as an important exercise in meaningful community and public engagement has since flourished into something much bigger. “A new energy for the Suffolk Coast” heralds a positive, community-led approach to bringing new investment, jobs & skills, environmental and cultural initiatives to the region.
The programme brings together residents, business leaders, local, regional and national policymakers and an array of experts to protect all that is precious about Suffolk’s Heritage Coast, while understanding and harnessing the benefits at scale that a new energy economy can bring.
An initial publication – co-authored by members of the Sizewell Community Working Group – was followed by a series of Our Heritage 2040 roundtables in October 2020. A series of working groups have since emerged: clusters forming around the Energy Innovation Economy; “Nature”; the Suffolk Food Renaissance; and Culture, Creativity & Inclusion. These will develop both big ideas, policy recommendations and pilot schemes in 2021/22.
Sizewell C is a generous supporter of the project, allowing Jericho complete editorial independence.
